Women - Making Men's Life Better; This Time With Technology
When a little princess of her father gets old, she becomes a woman and without women, there lies a big void in the world. Every year, on 8th March, the world celebrates International Women’s Day and pay a tribute to them for being the most important part of our life. A woman is the lady who give us birth, feed us and then make us grow stronger and remains the strongest force in our life. Later when we become mature, then we find another girl who turns our better half and she is that lady, who stand with us in each phase of life.
Since ages, it has been considered that women are the best in homemaking and they are left better to be stayed there. Especially in the traditional culture of country like India, it has been dominating factor that restrictions have been imposed on women post their marriages related to their working or doing something on their own by moving outside home.
But, the time never remains same and in this changing hour of time, there has been a big revolution in every field and the women have empowered themselves in each section of society.
Late Indira Gandhi achieved the feat of becoming the first women Prime Minister has been one of the biggest accomplishment in Indian political history. Late Kalpana Chawla made us proud when she travelled to space. Women have also showcased their talent in the field of education ever since and almost every year, in high school results, it’s the girls who outplay the boys.
But, technology has been one of the field where it was considered from a very long phase that it is not the cup of tea for women. The contribution made by them in the early stages and even in the first decade of 21st century was below par.
But Women are the force which when gets clear vision, no achievement remains away from them, so is the field of technology.
In the era of modern world, where everyone is getting online and making the best use of technology to make their life best, the important section of society – the women are also contributing a lot towards building a better future through technology.
A section of society, which has been ruled by the nerds better known as the geeks or the menfolk are being replaced by their better halves.
In the recent few years, the world has witnessed the rise of many female leads whose contribution in the technology arena has brought massive change in the lives of people. Sheryl Sandberg, the COO, Facebook, her introduction to the world is so known. If the topic of women’s role in technology is ever discussed, she is the one, who helped in attracting lots of women to try their luck in the field of technology. By looking at her, hundreds of thousands of women find themselves easy going in a world which was strange to them.
Krithiga Reddy, the head of Facebook India, she helped the Indian women entrepreneurs to lead from the front and create their own destiny.
According to a recent survey, around 22% Indian women are working in IT organizations. The number is still not great, but amazing if compared to the results of a decade back.
There are other shining names as well in this field, with the likes of Shraddha Sharma, founder YourStory, she has created a small revolution on her own and written her own story. Kiran Majumdar Shaw, she is the main power behind Biotech.
Although, there have been no such billion dollar evaluation to any startup by women lead, but their contribution is such, which cannot be underestimated and the way they are moving forward in today’s era, by the time, 2nd decade of 21st century will come to an end, we might witness some of the most amazing work by Women developers and we may also get to see some of the most amazing and beautiful inventions by them.
With the changing time, it is going to be the women power who will be responsible for the next billion dollar product, something like Google, Facebook and WhatsApp.
